High Fidelity Packaged Music at Lower Cost

Document Thumbnail

The age of buying crackers from a barrel is past. We must look forward to better things in more convenient packages. Magnetic tape is no exception. The customer cannot be expected to thread tape over pulleys, heads, and capstans, then fasten it onto a reel for entertainment. It must be sold in a more convenient form and be competitive in cost with discs if it is ever generally accepted as an entertainment medium. Up to this time, magnetic tape has existed only on its quality merits and availability for amateur recording. If these favorable advantages are maintained, and if lower cost and convenience can also be provided, then magnetic tape can become the major product in the record field.
