A dynamic loudspeaker was utilized to generate desired transient acoustic pressure signatures. The digital computer and linear system theory were used to determine the feasibility of generating a given pressure signature, to predict the acoustic response to a given electrical input, and to predict the electrical input to obtain a given acoustic response. Experimental verification was obtained.
