When using full width recorded test tapes for multitrack recorders, there are a number of long wavelength deviations, yielding doubts about the real shape of the characteristic at the low end of the audio bandwidth. The special head, which erases the separation tracks of the full width recording so direct comparison becomes possible, is described.
