A look at a method used for years in the training of sound engineers in Germany, and the application of similar ideas in a British university. Technology and music work side by side in any recording or broadcasting studio, usually being personified respectively by the producers and studio engineers. A Tonmeister has received education in depth in both aspects and the training of Tonmeisters, pioneered in Germany, is now going ahead in England.
