Numerically Optimized Touring Loudspeaker Arrays - Practical Applications

Document Thumbnail

We describe the implementation of a user guided automated process which improves the quality and consistency of loudspeaker array deployment. After determining basic venue geometry a few easily understood goals for regions surrounding the array are specified. The relative importance of the goals is then communicated to the optimisation algorithm in an intuitive manner. Some representative examples are presented, initially optimised with default coverage goals. We then impose extra requirements such as changing the coverage at the last moment, avoiding noise sensitive regions and demanding a particularly quiet stage.
