Surround Sound Track Productions Based on a More Channel Headphone

Document Thumbnail

Headphones have become very popular in the last years. Many devices were created around mp3 file systems. These portable surround sound devices are the successor of “stereo” applications in consumer electronics, multimedia and games. To create the surround sound experience from a portable device, headphones are needed. Some problems are 3D sound obstructive: Humans need individual reproduced binaural signals (HRTF) due to all types of headphone uses. Commercial headphones need adaptive, realistic, 3D images from all headphone sound sources (TV, CD, mp3 / mobile phone). They need to have a minimum of elevation effects and virtual distance perception. Now we can create surround sound mixings that can be demonstrated as both 4.0 headphone and 5.1 loudspeaker compatible.
