Pre- and post-equalization limitations, the effects of bias frequency, bias current to recording current ratios, methods of injection and phenomena related to wave length versus head contact affecting low frequency response, and effect of replay head loading are discussed and illustrated as observed in the development of the Sproketape magnetic recording system.
