High Speed Automated Test Set

Document Thumbnail

The amount of -knob twiddling- occurring in an audio test department may often reach epic proportions. Such was the case at the Gates Radio Company where a large quantity and variety of audio products are produced. The problem then was to create a system that could reliably duplicate the routine, repetitive tests made on audio products while showing a considerable time savings. The resulting test system has many important features. The first is that it does, in almost all cases, drastically reduce test time. Secondly, no compromise in testing is made. In most cases, the number of performance checks are increased; only in a very few products is the normal checkout as rigirous as the automatic checkout. The third feature is that the unit may be operated by nontechnical personnel after initial calibration has been made. Many other plus points have made this system a success.
