This paper describes a variable amplitude band pass filter for use in the audio frequency range. The instrument consists of 36 independent 1/3 octave adjustments with visual indicators and mechanical memory. The design considerations and capabilities of the Spectrum Shaper will be detailed. The application of this equipment for special sound effects, audio equalization, refection of interference, band passing of desired signals and other uses will be discussed.
