Continuing investigation in the field of high density disc recording has resulted in a record with a playing time of 20 hours. Some of the history and reasoning underlying this development will be presented. A description of the processes and elements of the system will follow. The potential of high density disc recording system will be assessed. The reproduction of the discs at the rate of 4-1/6 rpm will be demonstrated.
