Objective measurements of headphones made on accepted laboratory couplers are not necessarily reflected in -real world- performance which is largely a function of the fit of the phone to the ear. -Fit performance- variances determine clinical audiometry results, disturb phonetic balance in language laboratories applications, and unbalance high quality program monitoring. Performance data in terms of the variable ear to phone coupling conditions will be presented.
