The San Diego All American Stadium, located in the Mission Valley, eight miles from downtown San Diego, is the most recently completed outdoor stadium in the West. The Architect began preliminary design in June 1965 and construction was completed in August 1967, at a total cost of about $28,000,000. The stadium is principally used for professional and college football games, and major league baseball, with occasional large civic events or performances by visiting shows.
