For electro-acoustic systems in opera houses and theaters the quality yardstick of sound studio engineering must be applied since audiences, pampered by the original sound of singers and orchestra and by the acoustical perfection of cinema, radio, television, and record discs, have become most discriminating and today can be satisfied only with systems which enable to create the sound effects that support the stage events and thus enhance the illusion of the spectators, with utmost fidelity.
