Real-Time 1/3 Octave Analyzer Type 3347

Document Thumbnail

Modern acoustic laboratories require extremely versatile frequency analyzers. A one-third octave analyzer has been developed which provides visual readout on a -14- screen, graphic plotting and digital output programmable by a computer. Attention has been given to the statistical requirements of averaging times versus bandwidth relationship for random data. In one of its modes, the time constant varies inversely with frequency to provide 20 seconds averaging at 20 Hz. The theory of operation and application will be discussed.
