Reading loudspeaker advertisements, catalogs and specifications leads one to believe that the baffle design procedure for a woofer is largely in the category of witchcraft and old wive's tales. We will try to distinguish the wisdom from witchcraft in these old wives tales by citing the hard facts learned from the computer study of the baffle problems for some twenty different woofers.
