A program conditioner has been designed which senses level directly directly from the input signal. The gain control logic permits rapid attack and recovery with lower distortion than obtainable by conventional level detection. A delay line allows anticipatory gain reduction for fast rise transients. A unique gain change with a specific and accurate voltage to decibel attenuation constant.
