An Interactive Multi Criteria Computer Program for the Synthesis of Loudspeaker Systems

Document Thumbnail

The design of loudspeaker systems involves the satisfaction of multiple conflicting design specifications (frequency response, efficiency, distortion, damping...). The 'optimal' compromise solution is obtained inquiring the designer's preferences in the neighborhood of a tentative solution by means of an interactive program. The program in turn suggests a new solution which gives a compromise among criteria according to the suggested preferences. The loudspeaker and enclosure design is used as an example and the indicated criteria are evaluated by means of the Small-Thiele model.
