Sound Transmission with Free Propagating Infrared Light, Part 2: Discontinuous Modulation Techniques

Document Thumbnail

The restrictions of continuous modulation techniques with regard to transmitter size and weight can be overcome by the use of pulse modulation techniques. A realized pulse frequency modulated system consumes only 1/5 of the current of a comparable FM system. Similar techniques are in use or under preparation for a wireless telephone extension and for multi-channel systems.
