The system architecture of the laser optical videodisc is discussed detailing the modulation process, player design, disk manufacturing and characteristics of the audio channels. The application of a modified CX noise-reduction system will be presented. Requirements for input materials to guarantee optimum transfer to the videodisc will be reviewed.
