A new method determines Thiele-Small parameters of a loudspeaker by a computer-based optimization routine called Nonlinear Goal Programming. The measured voice-coil impedance magnitude of the loudspeaker is the goal. The program sequentially pertubates the parameters in the voice-coil impedance function unitl a optimal compromise is established with the goal. The results agree well with those measured conventionally, and are obtained without repetitive steps required by conventional methods.
