Modern Multitrack Recording Techniques

Document Thumbnail

It is a sad fact of life that the reproduction of audio signals is subject to the limitations inherent in the reproducing chain. Because of this, recording engineers, producers, and artists have found it necessary to develop special techniques to overcome these same limitations, or even to make artistic use of them. This paper analyzes the main characteristics of the equipment used for the reproduction of audio together with a synthesis of corresponding recording techniques that may be used.
