Input/Output and Processing of Acoustic Signals with a Mini-Computer System

Document Thumbnail

A microphone controlled A/D-D/A interface is presented, which allows continuous input/output of acoustic signals onto the hard disk of a mini computer system (HP 1000 F, disk: 120 mbyte, sampling frequency 40 kHz/channel). The advantage of the system is illustrated by some examples in the field of signal processing of acoustic signals. For the filtering of the signals, transfer functions can be used, which are either measured or computed. The measuring of the transfer functions is done by means of the interface and a program for analyzing ac signals which may be obscured by noise.
