Calculation of a sound reinforcement system requires knowledge of the sound power level of the original sound source. The literature includes different data for classical and modern electronic musical instruments. Recent measurements will be presented and discussed, and compared with those in the literature. In addition, the frequency responses of the sound power level of these sound sources will be discussed. Requirements for sound amplification and equalization will be outlined.
