The design of a 2-channel digital audio recorder based on the fixed-head DASH format is presented. It features new approaches to A/D and D/A conversion system designs, audio signal processing, error protection, and channel encoding and decoding, data equalization, time-base correction, manual cueing, transport design and control, editing, and recorder synchronization.
