The change of electromagnetic damping due to increases of the temperature of the moving coil of a dynamic drive unit is shown to be a problem under conditions where signal preconditioning is employed to obtain good bass extension with a small-box volume. A novel way to detect and correct for this loss of electromagnetic damping is suggested.
