For several months Motorola is producing a high frequency compression horn that uses a lead-zirconate lead-titanate driver. A high stiffness diaphragm provides matching to the high mechanical impedance of the direct mode driver. The following article will present the basic thoughts that lead to the deisgn of the ceramic driver. The paper will also explain in detail the actual design and the performance of the Motorola high-frequency horn.
