Document Thumbnail

The acoustical comfort in open plan offices, teller halls in banks, and other rooms, can be raised by introducing a noise conditioning system. Basic requirements of room acoustics are described and equations shown to calculate the level of background noise for the privacy desired. Some systems are explained, including noise generators, level controller, electronic equipment, and loudspeaker arrangements. Experiences gained in operating these systems in offices over more than 15 years are presented.
