This present study proposes a characterization of stereophonic sound fields, considering the acoustic artifacts observed as off-center interference figures in the synthetic field, in addition to the localized reconstruction of an acoustic event. The work focuses on first- and higher-order ambisonic systems, specific acoustic properties attached to different decoding styles, as well as their implications regarding the spatial auditory rendering.
