This paper addresses three areas: 1) How good are human listeners at localizing sounds when multiple sound sources are present, and how is that ability affected by the number of sources? 2) What role does spatial information play in the perception of auditory objects? 3) Is the precedence effect (Haas) -hard-wired- in the brain or does it depend on cognitive processing?
