The paper shows how an effective model for the contralateral head-related transfer function (HRTF) can be obtained through a simple transformation of the ipsilateral HRTF. The appropriate interaural time difference is obtained from a spherical head model which can be readily customized for each listener. The results produced are remarkably close to those produced by individually measured contralateral HRTFs.
