Low-Latency Convolution for Real-Time Applications

Document Thumbnail

The convolution of a sound signal with measured or computed room impulse responses in real time poses severe problems regarding computation load, system latency, and memory requirements. Some key features of frequency-domain convolution allow the solving of the dilemma between latency and computational complexity. Today's extrapolation implementations of off-the-shelf computers allow the sketching of future software solutions.
