Investigation of multidimensional perceptual concepts, such as the spatial characteristics of sound, can be either an overall quality measure or in the form of individual attributes that constitute the concept. The latter requires the identification and precise definition of each attribute. This paper describes an experimental paradigm that was developed for identification of individual attributes of taste and imaging and discusses how the method can be used to investigate the spatial characteristics of sound.
