The CS8425 is a digital audio transceiver which can be used in a multinode audio system. Using the standard IEC-958 (S/PDIF) format, this device is capable of transmitting up to three 16-bit audio channels along with an embedded low bit-rate data channel, which can be used to pass control information between any nodes in the system, thereby creating an Audio Local Area Network.
