A computer program for prediction of sound system performance is presented. A finite element model provides an accurate geometric and acoustic representation of the sound system's environment. Loudspeakers may be placed to simulate a wide variety of sound system layout strategies, and the relative merits of each readily assessed. Sound field calculations include: spatial maps of direct field coverage, temporal representations of both direct and reflected sound as well as directional information from a listener's point of view. Advanced development will cover prediction of intelligibility, a revised reverberant field calculation and the use of color to represent multiple parameters.
