I was invited to present this paper for the purpose of giving everyone a -glimpse- of -What it will be like- for our industry in the year 2000. Originally, I set about doing this, but as I thought about it more and more, it became clear that my predictions would only be my personal view of it. It also became clear that technical innovation in our industry is a given. It never stops and our industry is blessed with it's share of gifted, talented and motivated inventors, artists and the technologists who will bear great fruit in the next 12 years (yes, time fans, only 12 years to the year 2000!) Computers will run, monitor and control large systems, amps will be unlimited in power, speakers will be bigger/faster/lighter/more expensive, less expensive/move clever, etc. You can bet on it.
