While Compact Disc (CD) Players have gradually become popular, lower power, lower cost and higher performance are required. To solve these problems a signal processing circuit, pre-amplifier, digital to analog (D/A) converter and sample holding circuit have been developed. The pre-amplifier employs AM detection in order to obtain minimal tracking error by using a 3 spot optical pick up. A 1-chip signal processing LSI that includes a digital data strobe circuit and all other function circuits with a fewer number of parts and gives an adjustment free system, has been developed. The D/A converter employs the triple current integration method, so that a higher precision circuit is realized with a lower system clock frequency of 17MHz, distortion rate of 0.002%, 96dB SNR, 2-ch conversion time of 10 microseconds and +-5V power supply.:
