ALFIO (Acoustic Load From Impedance Observation) is a method to determine the acoustic load added by an enclosure to a loudspeaker driver, by fitting the parameters of an equivalent circuit model. This is achieved by measuring the electrical input impedance of the driver in free-air and in the enclosure. The procedure is explained and demonstrated through measurements on several real systems. The evaluation of uncertainties allows model improving through the addition of a further parameter. The whole procedure is implemented in a MATLAB app.
