This paper presents an approach for improved ENF analysis based on harmonic distortion. It discusses the creation of artificial harmonics in order to significantly increase temporal resolution for ENF analysis, which is a key requirement for many editing detection use cases, without sacrificing detection accuracy. The benefits of including this approach into pre-existing tampering analysis methods resulted in an immediate increase of both precision and recall.
