The STm7200 SOC targets a wide range of multimedia applications, from Dual HD Set-Top-Boxes to HD A/V media-centers. This article presents the global architecture of this heterogeneous multiprocessor platform. It describes the efficient and flexible component based embedded audio firmware architecture. It will show how the host processor distributes and balances the computation-intensive workload of advance codecs and post-processings over up to 4 multimedia processors.
