High definition is now a success in several major regions of the world including North America and Japan. As a consequence, the Olympic Games held in Europe were shot in high definition but unfortunately could not be watched by European consumers at the same level of quality enjoyed by viewers on the other side of the world! For a region that has until now received the best quality television this is not good news! But there are signs of progress.
