Here we propose a degree program that addresses the need for composers and audio engineers in game development. Since sound design must approach the quality of the film industry and be interactive as well, a degree in this area must provide the student with a fundamental background in basic audio and involve advanced spatial and reactive concepts. It is desirable to have the computer game sound designer who has developed skills as a composer. This curriculum addresses the skill set for both electronic and electro-acoustic composition and provides a background in music theory, orchestration and arranging. Game specific courses are added as interdisciplinary collaborative courses, which foster teamwork and solidify the student's understanding of workflow in the game industry.
