This paper describes active subwoofer loudspeaker systems with acoustic dipoles. The systems consists of a digital crossover and a digital class-D power audio amplifier. It is based on TAS5508-5121K8EVM class-D digital power amplifier evaluation module. The system has been built and tested in the Institute of Electrical Engineering laboratory. Some results of the loudspeaker systems measurements are presented, and compared to test results of a subwoofer with a passive radiator.
