The precedence effect is very important for sound image creation by audio devices. Until so far, few research has been done on the precedence effect for sound from the side direction. In this paper, we examined the precedence effect in side directions for different speaker arrangements, and measured the balanced relation curve of amplitude ratio and time delay between two speakers in side directions. From the results, we can conclude that the precedence effect is also important to control the positions of sounds in side as well as in front.
