Wave field synthesis (WFS) has the potential to generate sound fields with correct spatial characteristics for each listener. Because of this property WFS is ideally suited to be combined with augmented reality systems, here every user perceives his own visual perspective of a given scene. This paper presents the results of the first bimodal perception experiments combining WFS with image reproduction based on augmented reality.
