The paper describes a technique that uses 2 channel stereo microphone techniques as the basis for surround sound microphone technique. The technique provides variable microphone polar patterns, multiple outputs for surround sound, as well as retaining conventional 2 channel stereo outputs. The method also extends creative possibilities for conventional multiple mono or multi-track techniques.
