This paper outlines current networks in dwellings of various sizes. Clients have various requirements and there are a range of solutions to these needs. The size of the property and the ancillary areas have significant impact on the networks required and the control systems employed. Intuitive handling of the control & external communications is essential for client take up of the services on offer. An outline of the networks currently utilised in a residential situation and their integration into a cohesive system is presented.
