The quality of reproduction of audio is rarely an issue now except in the most esoteric applications. Cost, functionality, power consumption and performance in immunity parameters are paramount. This paper will discuss the requirements of designers of equipment for complex systems emphasising why some very attractive parts have to be rejected for one missing feature.
