Technology ultimately becomes successful when it is invisible. Presented here is a working definition for an appliance, and realizations about Internet Audio Appliances. Anything between the consumer and the enjoyment of media is something to eliminate. Beyond the technical solutions, there are other issues at play audio appliances. These remaining issues may prevent it from surviving. Here are possibilities.
