Technology Issues for the Next Generation of Music Services

The mass acceptance of Internet audio by consumers has validated the future of non-physical music delivery. The next generation of music services must improve ease of use and quality in order to create a viable business. Most importantly, these services must include fees for the consumer. This paper outlines some of the key features for these future music services. In this way, the paper sets up a further look into the challenges for information appliances as they evolve into interfaces for music services.
