Designing Surround Sound Facilities for Higher Education

Document Thumbnail

This poster displays facilities at Singapore Polytechnic and Leeds Metropolitan University that have been designed by the author to support the teaching and learning of music, sound and multimedia programmes. The focus is on surround sound in education and how these facilities have been creatively designed and function within an education context. One of the unique features inherent with the facilities at both Institutions is that a lecturer can better deliver traditional topics such as audio recording techniques, music production and audio mastering to a large cohort of students. All of the facilities featured in this poster provide for "live" interaction between students and staff within a critical 5.1 Surround Sound listening field.
